Well, being at the bottom of the barrel, but still willing to share my experience, I like to rehearse at home and actually act the scenes out.

I do it over and over, and even thought I know it won't be exactly the same when I get on set, at least I know what to do.

This doesn't just consist of reading the lines over and over, but reading the other characters lines as I go along. You have to do that in order to know how much time is in between lines and how to emote.

That sounds like a good idea. I wish more actors actually memorized their lines.
