Casting Call for Springfield Film "By The Devil's Watch 2"

A sci-fi thriller starring David Link as a normal guy living in 1984 Los Angeles, CA, who is tortured by the outcome of the accidental death of his wife. Suddenly trouble arises when he is thrown into the lives of spies and espionage as other people try to invade American soil in a new way.

You can audition this Saturday, December 8, from 3pm to 5:30pm at Strong Hall, basement level, on the MSU campus. The four characters needed are:
- an army commander
- a forensics person (male/female)
- man at elevator (a no-named character but who gets the most important lines in the movie)
- the Russian scientist who speaks some real Russian (male/female)

Casting Call for Springfield Short "Apollo"

In the distant future, the sun lost to the pollution of war. Apollo Sylvan, a despondent pianist, struggles to keep his marriage alive. A 30-minute science-fiction drama being shot in late February 2008 as part of an MSU senior thesis production. If you would like to prepare a brief dramatic dialogue please keep it under 1-2 minutes, but we will also have you read from provided script sides. Also bring any performance materials (head shots, experience in film/video/theater, personal skills, etc.) with you to the audition.

An emotionally bipolar but strong woman who desires the chase and escape of love.

Casting Call for Springfield Short "Nothing Rhymes with Orange"

Follow an old orange couch into the homes of three very different women who face problems free furniture just can't solve. Three audition nights available to try to fit everyone's schedules. You only need to come to one night, and if you can't make it to one of these nights, you might be able to get other arrangements.

Lead Roles:

Sadie Harris – A shy 20-something who has just been let of rehab for a cocaine addiction. She's determined to live on her own but faces plenty of temptation.

Jace Mitchell – An intelligent 20-something who aspires to be a writer but is forced to take care of her mother. She is struggling to decide if it is the right time to take care of herself.

Charlotte Anderson – A late-20s/early-30s artist and college studio art professor, surviving a slowly failing relationship with her live-in boyfriend. She's free-spirited and strongwilled but lacking fulfillment.

Casting call in Springfield at Landers Theatre for "The Road"

An open casting call will be held in Springfield on Saturday, November 3, from noon to 2pm at the Landers Theatre (311 E. Walnut, 4th Floor) for thin/slightly built boys from 7-10 years old to play the lead role in the new feature, "The Road."

The film stars Viggo Mortensen ("Lord of the Rings") and is an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. The film will be directed by John Hillcoat and will shoot in February, 2008, location to be determined.

"The Road" is the story of a man and his son as they experience the devastation of a post-apocalyptic world being sustained by the love that exists between them.

No experience necessary. All slim boys aged 7-10 are encouraged to try out.

Open casting call for 35mm St. Louis film

Murphy Harris Creative is holding an open casting call for a short film this Saturday, October 13th, in the conference room at Emerson Library (1st floor) in Webster Groves (St. Louis) from 11am to 2pm.

They're looking for males and females of all ethnic groups and ages 18 to 60. It will be a first-come basis, so please come as early as you can.

They're shooting on 35mm film and all positions are unpaid, but this is a great opportunity for any St. Louis actor who wants to add to their reel. 35mm films don't come around very often, and if you are building a resume, this is a great chance to gain true film experience.

As of now the shoot dates are Nov. 8th, 11th, and 12th. But some actors will only be needed one or two of those days.
